Meet The Team

Steven Fitzgerald

Steven is the Training Coordinator at Threshold Training Network.

As an early school leaver with little or no career guidance Steven was drawn towards supporting people.  It was his belief in the untapped potential of people that can be marginalised that guided his early career.  His experiences of volunteering in the local community with youth and working abroad in orphanages in Mombassa, Kenya, made him decide to pursue a degree in social care. After many adventures and a while spent globetrotting, he went to college as a mature student. On achieving his Social Care degree he began working with Threshold Training Network in 2010. It has been here that he developed his understanding of mental health recovery and has been part of the leadership team to weave this model throughout all the organisations services.

He co-ordinates the education and training programmes, supporting both the students and trainers in the completion of portfolios and achievement of major awards (on The National Framework of Qualifications).  Facilitating groups is close to his heart.  He has introduced many, many students to mindfulness meditation, gratitude practices and  auricular acupuncture for stress and anxiety reduction.

In his spare time he can be found in his garden enjoying nature or teaching Buddy, his dog, the joy of meditating in the outdoors.
